Green Party candidates have largely been viewed as "spoilers", but I assure you Jennaro Pullano is no spoiler, "he's in it to win it". Pullano has proven himself to be a leader in the Reading Community and he has proven that he has the backbone to stand up for what he believes in. Jennaro has everything it takes to win the race, and that's exactly what he intends to do.
Pullano will not be running alone. He has assembled a team of veteran Greens from Berks County to accompany him on the ticket. Heather Urkuski, a prominent Berks County Green, and former city commissioner has decided to run again. Teresa Valentine is running for the 5th district City Council seat.
If Pullano's opponent make the mistake of taking him lightly, they could be in for a rude awakening. Pullano garnered 48% of the vote in a run-off election for a council seat last year.
Pullano believes his innovative thinking and leadership skills are key to reviving the city of Reading. And yes, Pullano has a plan. One that he hopes the voters will mobilize around. "Reinventing Reading" (www.reinventingreading.info), a plan laid out by Eron Lloyd, a Green who grew up in Reading. "It has a lot of information that we support. " says Pullano. "This is a plan to take back our city". That's exactly what Pullano and his team of Greens have the potential to do.
