Sestak Confirms White House Offer
The White House now says Former President Bill Clinton acted as an intermediary in attempts to talk Congressman Joe Sestak out of his successful Senate primary against five-term incumbent Arlen Specter. An unpaid job was offered to Sestak that would have allowed him to remain in Congress.
He was never offered Navy Secretary, and in fact, Sestak told reporters in Washington there wasn’t much of an offer at all. Just mention of serving on a Presidential panel perhaps dealing with intelligence before he quickly rejected the idea.
So why was Sestak so coy about specifics for months particularly about who made the offer?
